A personal recap of 2024.

I was invited as a LEA Role Model in the initiative ‘Let’s empower Austria (LEA)’, an Austrian initiative to empower and support women and girls.

We seek a doctoral researcher (= PhD position) with a focus on fairness in recommender systems in the music sector or a related field in the media sector. Funded position.

I had an exciting and busy time at the RecSys Summer School and RecSys conference.

I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Austrian radio program Mahlzeit Burgenland to discuss some of my favorite topics: music, AI, and broadcasting.

Lots of interesting startups pitched their ideas in the FACTORY(+) program at Innovation Salzburg.

I had a productive and inspiring week at the ‘Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshop 24352: Conversational Agents: A Framework for Evaluation (CAFE)’ that I co-organized with Li Chen, Nicola Ferro, and Norbert Fuhr.

We received the Women in RecSys Journal Paper of the Year Award 2024 for our TORS paper ‘Where are the values? A systematic literature review on news recommender systems’.

From 1st to 5th of July 2024, I participated as a speaker at ELLIS ESSIR 2024 and FDIA 2024 in Amsterdam.
