Sophie Straetemans interviewed me for Science Notes (in German). The interview is part of the article collection entitled Greatest Hits.

As so often ;-), I talk about the work on gender fairness in music recommender systems with Andrés Ferraro and Andrés Ferraro and Michael Ekstrand: We talk about what ‘fairness’ means in music recommendation and how algorithms steer which artists get heard and which stay invisible on digital music platforms.

In this interview, I also go beyond and highlight that fairness can mean different things to artists, listeners, and streaming platforms.
